a heat wave? oh yeah! sometimes in the summer, it can get hot outside for many days, and it doesn't rain enough, so the plants and the grass dry up. woodlanders do all sorts of things to try and keep cool. franklin:(giggles)
what a great day! but it's not too hot for me. i think it's a perfect day. i love the sun. mrs. turtle:(chuckles) me too! that's because we turtlesare cold-blooded, so the sun is whatkeeps us warm. mr. turtle:that's right. but most of the other folkin woodland are warm-blooded,
which means that a heat wavecan be extra hot for them. oh! well, i'll say! it's pretty quiet in townthis morning; everyone's staying put,trying to find somewhere cool. well, maybe today isn't the best day for us to build a new shed together, hmm? well, we'll give itour best shot, and hope for some shade!

what's the game,franklin? well, snail and i realizedthat the best thing to do on a day like today was to play something cooland coolio, so we invented slow-motionfreeze tag! it's the perfect gamefor a heat wave because it mostly involvesstaying frozen in one place. franklin:and every time you saythe word "freeze," you'll be remindedof cooler times!
